At Wirsa Wellness, we offer compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals struggling with substance use. Our approach combines medical management, psychotherapy, and holistic support to address the root causes of addiction and promote long-term recovery. We tailor treatment plans to each individual's needs, empowering patients to reclaim control over their health and recovery journey.
We provide support for reducing or eliminating alcohol use, with options including medication-assisted therapy and relapse prevention counseling.
We offer treatment for opioid use disorder, including MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment) and behavioral health support.
For stimulant misuse, we focus on behavioral interventions, harm reduction, and structured care pathways.
We treat a wide range of substance use disorders, including alcohol, opioids, stimulants, cannabis, and polysubstance use. Our care is individualized and grounded in evidence-based practices.
At this time, we only provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) when appropriate, and provide some guidance for relapse prevention planning and holistic wellness support. Since we don't have in-house therapy or addition support specialists, social workers, and psychologists at this time, we only treat those patients who are already connected with ongoing therapy, treatment and services that support long-term recovery.
Yes. We offer MAT for appropriate patients, including buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone) for opioid use disorder, and naltrexone, acamprosate, and disulfiram for alcohol dependence. These treatments when combined with therapeutic support have shown great promise for best recovery outcomes. We are also considering adding injections in the future.
Whether your goal is moderation or abstinence, there are medications that are effective in controlling cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Although, we support harm reduction and will meet you where you are in your recovery journey., by working collaboratively, our provider will do a thorough assessment to explore whether Wirsa Wellness is the right fit to provide SUD treatment.
In addition, we specialize in treating individuals with dual diagnosis (depression, PTSD, anxiety alongside substance use). Our integrated approach ensures both mental health and substance use challenges are addressed together.
Yes. Urine drug screening is a standard part of treatment to ensure safe prescribing and to monitor progress. We use results to guide care, not as a punitive measure to stop treatment, but to inform medication decisions and continued eligibility for certain services.
Yes. We host a designated SUD Clinic hours every Sunday from 10AM to 1PM as a requirement of continuation of controlled stimulant medications. The check-ins are required and are primarily virtual appointments each month during designated clinic hours. Besides monthly virtual appointments, in-person visits are also required every 6 to 12 months for active monitoring and documentation pertaining to the Ryan Haigh Act compliance especially if being prescribed controlled medications.
At the start of the treatment, you will be required to attend weekly SUD clinic or bi-monthly depending on provider recommendations and care needs. Non-compliance to the appointments will result in patient discharge from treatment.
Our provider is very cautious with controlled medications. If you have an active or recent substance use history, controlled substances, including stimulants, benzodiazepines, or hypnotics are generally not prescribed unless part of a structured and closely monitored plan, once prolonged sobriety has been successfully achieved.
Relapse is a part of the recovery journey for many people. If relapse occurs, you will not be judged or discharged automatically. Instead, we will re-evaluate your care plan and work with you to adjust support strategies and treatment intensity.
